5-Minute Wall Volley Drill for Beginners

Welcome to your first home tennis drill! You don’t need a court to improve your game. This simple wall volley drill is perfect for building hand-eye coordination and perfecting your contact point.

The Wall Volley Challenge

What you need: A tennis racket, a tennis ball (or a foam ball for indoors), and a flat wall.

  1. The Setup: Stand about 3-5 feet away from the wall in a ready position.
  2. The Drill: Gently volley the ball against the wall using only your forehand. Focus on short, compact swings.
  3. The Goal: Try to hit 10 volleys in a row without the ball hitting the ground.

Once you master the forehand, try switching to backhand or alternating between the two!
